I was just poking around on the Mustang configurato r and noticed Ford is quoting 84 month payments at the top of the page . Mein Gott , who would finance a Mustang for that long?

It’s the “what sort of monthly payment do you want?” thing. It’s a lot easier for people to consider their monthly budget. Dealerships (and plenty of other businesses) do this because it is effective with consumers.

Well it depends if they offer silly financing rates or not. I promised myself I’d never finance a vehicle, but they gave me such a low rate it didn’t make sense to pay cash .

So here I am with a 5 year loan on a motorcycle.

Thinking it’s just a fluctuation due to my CC debt. I have a $1000 visa card and routinely pay it down, but last few months I’d been paying only partially due to the Death Star sized hole in my bank account in November.

Every high school education really needs to teach kids how the real world works.

Like they should have once class that covers everyday finance, budgeting, the credit system, banking system and fees, loans and taxes.

Another class should cover c ooking at least 2 meals, signing/dancing/playing an instrument and wood/metal working.

They tell you that there’s a magic revolving number of credit card debt, to have some non-zero balance but keep the debt ratio low. I eventually found it too much trouble to be worth it and avoid using my credit card at all. Then Experian will say stuff like, “Not enough debt history.” Maybe, but one missed payment or too high of balance more than undoes what you tried to built. You should have seen what my wife’s parking ticket did. It was $35, but she never paid it. That little thing did some damage, I tell ya.
